What are fat dissolving injections?
There are a few different types of injections available to help dissolve stubborn fat. Dr Ameh chooses to use @Aqualyx and she has been fully training in performing this treatment
What is Aqualyx?
Aqualyx contains a bile acid – deoxycholic acid similar to what is produced the liver. This chemical helps to dissolve fat stores
What areas can be treated?
This treatment is effective for;
- Double chins
- Saddle bags
- Inner & outer thighs
- Abdomen
- Bingo wings
- Back fat/ bra back fat
What does the procedure entail?
You will first have a consultation where a full medical history will be taken, and Dr Ameh will describe the procedure in full detail. An appointment for the treatment will be booked.
On the day of the procedure a numbing cream is applied in the target area. Aqualyx is mixed with lidocaine for more comfort. The product is then injected in the area with a series of injections using a specialised lipoinject needle.
How many treatments are needed?
A reduction in fat deposits can be seen after just one treatment, however multiple sessions are recommended to achieve desired results.
Facial treatment ( under the chin) 2-4 sessions
Body treatment 3-5 sessions
Are There Any Side Effects?
The treatment is non-surgical and is very well tolerated.
There are some temporary side effects, which include bruising, swelling, redness and irritation in the injection area. Sometimes the area may feel slightly tender to touch, lumpy, numb or itchy but these side effects usually subside after 5 -7 days.
